What is an extension chain? What makes it different from an L2?

Not sure if that is the case with the Sidechain that @aliencoder is working on.

From a marketing perspective, I think we should avoid all of these terms. They all sound like leftovers, crutches, and sloppy seconds.
I think that we should eventually come up with our own term that is specific to NoM’s approach.
